Residency permit -Golden Visa- programme in Greece is the documentation issued by the Greek authorities, according to which a third country investor is given the right to reside legally within Greek territory, in accordance with the necessities of the European Union.
The Immigration and Social Integration Code (Law 4251/2014, Government Gazette 1, no 80) contains provisions that assist the stay of third-country investors, whose investments are considered as strategic investment.
The program offers real estate investment route to permanent residency in Europe. Following the launch of several European investment visa programmes it was introduced by the Greek government in 2013 to encourage investment into Greece.
Applications are submitted directly to the municipality or the related authority of the Aliens and Immigration of the Decentralised Authority in the applicant’s place of residence.
Residency Permit Process
An investment of €250,000 is obligatory in real estate in Greece is the lowest investment level of any real estate residency visa scheme in Europe. The property, located anywhere on the Greek mainland or the islands, can be either residential or commercial. Several number of properties can combine to make up the €250,000 minimum investment. Joint buyers can combine investments into one property.
